Constantia Uitsig (meaning "Constantia View") is situated in the historic Constantia Valley where wine farming originated in South Africa. A mere 20 minutes drive from the centre of Cape Town, this beautiful valley is blessed with moderate temperatures, excellent soils, good rainfall and cooling sea breezes from two close-by oceans.

David and Marlene McKay bought the farm in 1988 and restored to its former glory. Wine farming has been revived after careful research and planning by the Wine Director, Andre Badenhorst.

With 40 hectares under cultivation, the farm produces award winning wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Although only producing wine for four years, accolades for the Constantia Uitsig Wines include Veritas Gold and Double Gold, Michelangela awards, a gold medal at the London International Wine Challenge, as well as listings on major airlines such as SAA and KLM.

Constantia Uitsig Farm is also home to the gracious Constantia Uitsig Country Hotel, two top class, award- winning restaurants, and the Constantia Uitsig Wine Shop.

The Constantia Uitsig Country hotel offers gracious seclusion to the discerning traveller. With only 16 individually appointed garden rooms, guests are assured of personal attention and Cape Hospitality in a rural setting.

The Constantia Uitsig restaurant housed in the original Manor House, offers widely varied Mediterranean cuisine.

Tucked away under gigantic palms and oak trees, La Colombe Restaurant exudes a rustic charm and offers French Provencal cuisine.
